Job Overview and Responsibilities

Under the general oversight of the Program Representative III (Supervisor), the Program Representative II (PR II) plays a crucial role in evaluating and analyzing investigative cases, allegations, citations, and providing support on matters related to case assessments, enforcement actions, and consumer grievances. The PR II also contributes to the research and formulation of policies, procedures, and regulations pertinent to the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR).

Work Environment

While there are no specific physical demands, the role involves typical office tasks such as sitting, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling. The incumbent is expected to work 40 hours per week during standard business hours in an office environment, which includes artificial lighting and climate control. Daily access to and proficiency in using a personal computer, including software applications (such as Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MapPoint, Word, etc.) and/or program databases (like ATS, CAS, TEALE, SharePoint, etc.), telephone, and other standard office equipment (e.g., copier, scanner, fax, etc.) is essential. Occasionally, the incumbent may need to lift binders, files, records, and/or manuals weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. The role requires travel within an assigned geographical area using various transportation methods. Willingness and ability to travel by air and state vehicle for meetings and other responsibilities is necessary.

Special Qualifications

A valid California Drivers License (CDL) is required for this position. Applicants must provide their CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on their application. Medical Clearance is required prior to employment. Applicants must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain a good driving record. A medical examination is necessary to ensure fitness for the role. Applicants should have a clean work history free from revocation or suspension of departmental-issued licenses for Lamp Installer/Adjuster, Brake Installer/Adjuster, Smog Technician, or Smog Inspector.
