Job Summary

Queens Public Library is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for all employment and onboarding activities for part-time employees, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of part-time employee applications and conduct pre-employment checks
  • Process invoices for payment, prepare SAP reports, and order supplies for the HR department
  • Provide confidential administrative support to the VP of Human Resources, including exposure to confidential labor relations initiatives
  • Participate in the part-time employee orientation process, including entering new hires in SAP and reviewing new hire forms for accuracy and completeness
  • Resolve part-time employee issues related to finance and payroll
  • Participate in the offboarding of part-time employees by processing separations, including collecting forms and submitting to HRIS

Requirements

  • High school diploma with some college credits completed
  • 5 years of human resources, administrative, or related professional experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and intermediate knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of human resources, administrative, or related professional experience preferred
  • Experience with other MS Office applications, SAP, and Kronos preferred
