Job Summary

The Head of Technical Asset Management is a critical role within Amazon's Fleet and Carriers team, responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the aircraft fleet. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing the technical aspects of aircraft purchase, leasing, deliveries, returns, and conversions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aircraft Deliveries and Returns: Coordinate and manage the technical aspects of aircraft deliveries and returns, including bridging, conformity activities, and acceptance to third-party carriers. Ensure all aircraft meet the carrier's technical and operational standards before acceptance.
  • Lease Agreement Management: Review and negotiate technical terms in lease agreements. Ensure compliance with lease terms and conditions throughout the lease period.
  • Asset Management: Develop and implement strategies for maintaining and enhancing the value of aircraft assets. Coordinate with tech ops, fleet transaction, carriers, finance, and legal teams.
  • Aircraft Conversion Projects: Lead and oversee passenger-to-freighter conversions. Ensure all conversion projects meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all technical operations comply with aviation regulations and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.

About the Team

The Fleet and Carriers team is a key pillar within Amazon's FAST group, responsible for managing the company's global fleet of aircraft. The team is structured around several key areas, including technical operations, fleet transactions, and carrier management.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in the aviation industry, with a focus on aircraft leasing, asset management, and technical operations.
  • Skills: Experience managing aircraft deliveries, returns, and conversions. Knowledge of aviation regulations and industry standards. Experience in negotiation for large-scale initiatives. Experience managing multiple projects.
