Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Children's National Hospital. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient access services. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers while maintaining accurate and timely registration and billing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Services: Demonstrate accuracy in scheduling patients using our scheduling system, verify charge codes correspond with diagnostic codes, and enter information into our billing/registration system.
  • Information Verification: Verify insurance eligibility, ensure managed care carve-outs are adhered to, and notify leadership of any authorization issues.
  • Cash Collection: Collect and record co-payments, deposits, and payments in full, and provide payers with receipts.
  • Billing Preparation: Ensure all applicable orders/scripts/referrals are obtained prior to services being rendered, clear walk-in appointments, and link scheduled/unscheduled appointments to our scheduling system.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Experience: 2 years of related experience (Required)
  • Skills: Broad knowledge of administrative processes, customer service skills, and computer knowledge necessary.
