Job Summary

Piston Automotive is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead our quality operations and drive excellence in our manufacturing processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and maintaining our quality operation system (QOS) to ensure the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • APQP Process Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for new product launches, ensuring seamless integration and quality assurance.
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Lead problem-solving activities and continuous improvement efforts to enhance customer satisfaction and quality performance, leveraging data-driven insights and analytical skills.
  • ISO/TS Compliance: Maintain and ensure adherence to all aspects of the ISO/TS guidelines, driving quality excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Operator Work Instructions and Process Development: Develop and maintain operator work instructions, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Control Plans for production lines, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Standards and Methods Development: Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, driving quality and consistency in our products.
  • Measurement Instrumentation and Capability Studies: Support the selection of measurement instruments used on the production floor, determine Gage R&R accuracy, and perform and track capability studies monthly.
  • Scrap Reduction and Quality Performance Tracking: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to eliminate scrap, track and report daily scrap information, and monitor quality performance metrics.
  • Customer and Supplier Support: Provide onsite support at customer and supplier sites to investigate and address concerns, ensuring timely resolution and quality assurance.
  • Quality Problem Notice and Return Material Analysis: Issue Quality Problem Notice (QPN) to suppliers on quality issues, coordinate supplier and customer containment activities, and facilitate Return Material Analysis (RMA).
  • Layer Process Audit and Quality Performance Reporting: Support Layer Process Audit (LPA) guidelines and track and report monthly quality performance metrics for Warranty, Plant Rejects, Process Capability, and Internal Concerns.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience: Proven experience in quality engineering, with a strong background in quality operations, APQP, and ISO/TS compliance.
  • Strong Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and suppliers. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand and apply principles of logic and statistical methods.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
