Job Title:

Research Faculty I, 12 Month Salaried Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Research Faculty I to join our team in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in real-time surgical simulation technology, developing novel simulation algorithms and techniques, and collaborating with faculty members and researchers from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in real-time surgical simulation technology and develop novel simulation algorithms and techniques.
  • Collaborate with faculty members and researchers from diverse backgrounds to advance the field of surgical simulation.
  • Write grant proposals and secure external funding to support research projects.
  • Publish research findings in high-quality journals and present research results at conferences and seminars.
  • Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in research projects.
Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in C/C++ programming, computer graphics, haptics, and physics-based real-time computing.
  • Proficiency in finite element modeling and simulation.
  • Substantial experience with computational fracture mechanics.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and libraries including TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Pandas, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and researchers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong publication record in relevant areas of research.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
