Role Overview:The Department of Biological Science at Florida State University is seeking applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Teaching Faculty position set to commence in January 2025.
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering instruction in either the first semester (covering chemistry, cell biology, molecular biology) or the second semester (focusing on ecology, evolution, and genetics) of general biology for majors in a large-lecture format. There is also potential for teaching an upper-division course in the candidate's area of specialization. Active participation in departmental initiatives and opportunities for professional development and instructional enhancement are expected. This position is subject to annual renewal based on performance.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess an academic doctorate or the highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in the biological sciences or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. A demonstrated passion for undergraduate teaching and familiarity with contemporary scientific teaching methodologies is essential.
We are looking for an innovative individual with strong interpersonal, written, and public speaking abilities who can work autonomously as well as collaboratively. The applicant should be highly driven to educate, motivate, and guide students during their initial university journey.
