Job Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial & Procurement, the Procurement Buyer – Raw Materials is responsible for recommending and formulating strategic purchasing initiatives within the designated area. Key responsibilities encompass forecasting the needs of internal customers, identifying sourcing solutions, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and steering the RFP processes, which include results-oriented contract negotiations.

The Procurement Buyer – Raw Materials acts as a vital link between suppliers and internal stakeholders, fostering transparent and productive working relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the complete contract lifecycle, from drafting agreements to resolving issues, negotiating terms and prices, and executing final contracts.
  • Design and implement sourcing strategies to guarantee a dependable and cost-effective supply of raw materials.
  • Effectively source raw materials or ingredients to meet critical production requirements, overcoming challenges related to materials and lead times.
  • Manage the comprehensive strategic sourcing process, including vendor sourcing, data and market analysis, strategy formulation, pricing negotiations, and contract evaluations.
  • Establish long-term partnerships with top-tier suppliers for both direct and indirect materials, while maintaining strong relationships with vendors for RFIs and RFPs.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to identify savings opportunities, enhance project efficiency, and drive strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to develop scopes of work and bid documents for RFPs, providing expertise and support as needed.
  • Continuously enhance and optimize supplier relationships to gather insights aimed at sourcing high-quality materials at optimal prices and lead times.
  • Generate monthly reports to identify cost containment and reduction opportunities across all purchasing areas.
  • Handle day-to-day purchasing activities for various departments in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding company information and manage filing systems for purchasing and correspondence documents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • At least 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with SAP ERP systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
Preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPS).
  • Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills
  • Comprehension of procurement trends and legal terms relevant to purchasing contracts and framework agreements.
  • Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong time management abilities and the capacity to prioritize multiple projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines for deliverables.
