The Senior Financial Analyst will be pivotal in shaping the company’s strategic direction, concentrating on supporting and leading various Corporate Development, Pipeline Development, and Enterprise Risk Management initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Development & Risk Management, this role involves assisting in deal sourcing, preliminary evaluations, investment strategies, executive presentations, and supporting Transaction Diligence throughout the acquisition process. Furthermore, this position will contribute to MCC's essential Insurance & Risk Management efforts, crucial for the success of a large, multinational manufacturing entity.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Development

  • Assist in identifying and sourcing acquisition targets through thorough analysis of customers, products, markets, geographies, technologies, and competitors.
  • Lead the creation of initial financial projections for acquisition targets in collaboration with the Vice President of Corporate Development, MCC Business Unit Presidents, and Operations Leadership.
  • Develop and analyze deal models to ensure alignment with MCC's strategic objectives and market opportunities.
  • Coordinate and manage diligence workstreams for active targets, including Finance, Tax, IT, EH&S, Commercial, and Operational aspects.
  • Conduct multiple valuation analyses to establish appropriate valuation ranges and recommendations for leadership.
  • Support the team in formulating evaluation criteria to assess the costs and benefits of potential acquisitions.
  • Maintain an up-to-date internal repository for all market interactions and confidential information.
  • Assist in preparing executive presentations to facilitate acquisition approvals by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Directors.
  • Support post-acquisition integration efforts to ensure a seamless transition of initial evaluation documents and investment strategies to global business partners.
  • Enhance the global process for identifying acquisition targets and collaborate with local business leaders to build the pipeline.

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Foster relationships with all insurance brokers and carriers.
  • Support global insurance renewals to effectively minimize MCC's overall risk profile and ensure adequate protection across all coverage lines.
  • Manage relationships with Operations and Engineering regarding MCC's Global Risk Improvement Program and overall Enterprise Risk posture.
  • Become a subject matter expert on MCC's global insurance program and respond to field requests promptly.
  • Strategically review and coordinate policy coverages in alignment with parent company portfolio programs.
  • Update and review all reporting related to insurance programs, claims, and Enterprise Risk.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced financial expertise to evaluate financial statements and analyze performance for M&A opportunities.

  • Independently develop financial projections for Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Strong presentation skills, comfortable articulating and defending assumptions to upper management succinctly.
  • Self-sufficient worker who can see the overarching goals and articulate how acquisitions contribute to those objectives.
  • Ability to identify information gaps and source relevant data points/benchmarks for data-driven conclusions.
