Job Summary

Medasource is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in a local contract role in Louisville, Kentucky. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our healthcare clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain medical history, triage patients, and record vital signs
  • Reconcile medication lists in electronic health records
  • Respond timely and appropriately to tasks and give injections per physician order
  • Report any abnormal results to physicians immediately
  • Maintain clean exam rooms and adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), required
  • Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization, required
  • Medical Assisting Degree, preferred
  • Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office, preferred
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience
  • BLS through the American Heart Association, required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare field and medical office protocols/procedures
  • Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to family & geriatric medical practice
  • Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families
  • Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately
  • Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures
  • Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring dealing with others
