Medasource is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in a local contract role in Louisville, Kentucky. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our healthcare clients.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain medical history, triage patients, and record vital signs
- Reconcile medication lists in electronic health records
- Respond timely and appropriately to tasks and give injections per physician order
- Report any abnormal results to physicians immediately
- Maintain clean exam rooms and adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), required
- Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization, required
- Medical Assisting Degree, preferred
- Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office, preferred
- Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience
- BLS through the American Heart Association, required
- Knowledge of healthcare field and medical office protocols/procedures
- Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to family & geriatric medical practice
- Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families
- Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately
- Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring dealing with others
