Job Summary Position/Title:
IT Engineer

Overview:


The Oregon Association of Broadcasters is seeking a dedicated IT Engineer to enhance the Engineering Department's operational efficiency through effective support of computer and network systems.

This role encompasses the upkeep of computing devices and servers integral to television broadcasting and video automation, along with supporting business-related workstations.

The selected candidate will engage in hands-on assistance with contemporary broadcast and IT apparatus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support Servers, Network Security, and Network Services.
  • Provide hardware and software support for PC/Mac, including installation, servicing, and repairs of workstations.
  • Address the technical requirements of the News Department.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of video equipment.
  • Support Engineering with maintenance tasks for Transmitter and Master Control.
  • Contribute to LAN and WAN hardware and software upkeep.
  • Develop expertise in facility-specific IT requirements and assist in their management.
  • Implement regular security updates.
  • Conduct physical inventory of technical equipment.
  • Oversee the digital telephone system.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or higher in IT, electronics, or a related field.
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in broadcasting.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
  • Competence in core hardware and computer system technologies, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and network management.
  • Ability to respond swiftly and effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Avid software and hardware products is advantageous.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
  • On-call responsibilities may include weekends and holidays.
  • Capability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
