Position Overview
This role is integral to our purchasing and expediting project team, focusing on critical project materials in alignment with established Material Management Plans and policies. The successful candidate will:
- Hold an accredited four-year degree or equivalent in a relevant field and possess eight years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling twelve years if non-degreed.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including management, colleagues, clients, and vendors.
- Demonstrate job-related technical knowledge necessary for effective performance.
- Learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Exhibit attention to detail and manage time efficiently.
- Plan, organize, and oversee purchasing and expediting functions on projects.
- Assist in developing purchasing strategies and perform material procurement activities in accordance with corporate standards.
- Supervise purchasing and expediting staff as assigned.
- Implement and monitor the Material Management Work Process to meet project requirements.
- Negotiate terms for complex equipment and material packages to ensure optimal value.
- Review and analyze contract terms and conditions.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards in material management.
- Analyze problems and make independent recommendations aligned with organizational objectives.
- Organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the EPCM industry with capital projects.
- Familiarity with Fluor's processes and systems.
- Experience with global vendors.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Progress towards relevant professional certifications.
- Strong background in material management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in computer literacy.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
Other Requirements
- Manage the RFQ lifecycle, including bidder selection, negotiations, and contract closeout.
- Review project scope and contract requirements to guide procurement documentation.
- Incorporate standard procurement procedures and strategies.
- Coordinate purchasing responsibilities with construction teams.
- Oversee procurement activities in compliance with project plans and schedules.
- Engage with project teams to achieve procurement objectives.
- Prepare staffing estimates and procurement schedules.
