About the Job

The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Director to lead our Outpatient Behavioral Health team. As a key member of our Clinical department, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of clinical programs, services, and initiatives that support the health and well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Outpatient Behavioral Health team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services to our clients.
  • Collaborate with other DESC departments to ensure seamless integration of clinical services with other programs and services.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in clinical care.
  • Supervise and mentor senior managers and clinical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of our clinical programs.
  • Work closely with our Medical department to ensure the provision of high-quality medical services to our clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funders to ensure the success of our clinical programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in clinical care, regulatory requirements, and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to inform program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or any other superseding credential that meets RCW 71.05.020 requirements to act as a Mental Health Professional whose scope of practice includes independently conducting mental health assessments and making mental health diagnoses.
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science.
  • Five or more years' experience providing services to chronically homeless adult populations, mental illness, substance abuse, and chronic health conditions.
  • Five or more years' supervisory/management experience in social service settings with staff providing direct services to clients.
  • Proven experience in planning and managing clinical programs.
  • Strong understanding of DEI work and its implementation throughout clinical work.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive project-related activities.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and local regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to manage and lead practice improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to articulate complex concepts.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from various backgrounds.
  • Commitment to key principles of Housing First and harm reduction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous DESC supervisory experience.
  • Program/Project Management experience.
  • Previous experience leading, managing, coaching, and developing direct reports.

Compensation details: $137,681.04-$155,770.80 Yearly Salary
