Job Overview

BETA Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Stormwater/Civil Staff Engineer to join our Water, Wastewater and Water Resources Team in Massachusetts. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical expertise and leadership in water resources engineering, watershed planning, construction management, civil infrastructure design, and permitting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative design solutions for public-sector clients.
  • Lead and coordinate projects related to stormwater control retrofits, green infrastructure, land and water resource development, and stream restoration.
  • Develop and implement hydraulic and hydrologic models, drainage and stormwater studies, and stormwater management permitting programs.
  • Supervise and coordinate less experienced staff to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of work products.
  • Attend and present at client and public meetings to communicate project progress and results.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • 4 to 8 years of related engineering experience in water resources and/or stormwater projects.
  • Strong academic training in civil site design, surface water hydrology, open channel hydraulics, watershed management, and stormwater permitting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports, proposals, and figures.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and AutoCAD, Civil3D, and ArcGIS/Pro.
  • Ability to collect field data and measurements, and perform asset inspections.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Experience with GIS/asset management, environmental sciences, and permitting.
