Position Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are in search of a dedicated and proactive manufacturing process engineer to become an integral part of our innovative team. This role requires a technical expert in production systems who will spearhead the integration of new technologies and drive continuous enhancement initiatives. The engineer will be actively engaged in production environments, dedicating a significant portion of their time to hands-on activities.

This position is a full-time, onsite role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigate and assess equipment and technological solutions, contributing to the development of technology strategies.
  • Manage the implementation of new technologies and automation processes.
  • Lead projects involving new equipment, including capital budgeting, user specifications, facility layout, and project management, while overseeing equipment testing, installation, qualification, and startup.
  • Establish preventive maintenance schedules and spare parts inventories in collaboration with suppliers and maintenance teams.
  • Work closely with production scheduling, supervisors, and process engineers to optimize machine performance and resolve operational issues.
  • Execute continuous improvement initiatives aimed at standardizing processes and enhancing output.
  • Define essential equipment performance metrics to ensure compliance with customer expectations.
  • Design fixtures and develop efficient changeover processes.
  • Facilitate kaizen events and process mapping sessions as required.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to create value stream maps for current and future states.
  • Support and lead environmental health and safety projects as needed.
  • Develop initial training materials and work instructions for new technologies.
  • Provide technical training to operators and engineering staff as necessary.
  • Establish key performance indicators and utilize management resource planning systems as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to fulfill the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within regulated industries such as medical devices or aerospace.
  • Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems, automation, and PLC programming is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 13485 standards, along with equipment qualification methodologies (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Proficient in CAD software for designing fixtures and layouts.
  • Familiarity with polymer and metal materials is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and adherence to environmental health and safety policies is essential.
  • Demonstrated customer focus, quality orientation, and ability to make informed risk-based decisions.
  • Experience managing complex projects and driving technology integration and process improvements.
  • Practical experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; certifications are a plus.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment with minimal supervision, while effectively communicating across all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, change management, critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of producing technical documentation, training materials, quality procedures, and performance dashboards.
  • Exhibit strong financial acumen and ability to manage capital projects.
  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in mechanical, electro-mechanical, or chemical engineering is preferred.
