About the Patient Revenue Management Organization
Embrace your passion for service within the Patient Revenue Management Organization, Duke Health's comprehensive revenue cycle management entity that optimizes the financial processes of our health system. This encompasses scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and various critical revenue operations.


Position Overview
This role requires flexibility as it is a float position, necessitating some travel. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily clinic operations, including patient identification, check-in/out processes, charge posting, cash handling, and appointment scheduling.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and manage communication effectively.
- Prepare for upcoming clinic visits by reviewing patient lists and completing necessary preparations.
- Handle patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and Medicare regulations.
- Collect co-payments and manage account balances accurately.
- Coordinate laboratory tests and procedures as required.


Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in basic computer and data entry tasks.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and professional telephone etiquette.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, provide clear instructions, and maintain effective relationships with clients.


Educational Background
- A high school diploma is required, with some postsecondary education preferred.
- Relevant experience in hospital service access, clinical service access, or billing and collections is essential.
