Job Title: Corporate Project Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Project Engineer to join our team at OSI Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering projects from concept to completion, working closely with plant management, corporate resources, and third-party vendors and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage assigned engineering projects to meet timelines, budget, and quality requirements
  • Define scope, roles, and responsibilities
  • Facilitate the development of project solutions
  • Generate preliminary cost estimates
  • Develop project CRFs and manage ongoing costs
  • Solicit, review, recommend, and obtain approval on bids for work and equipment required
  • Oversee contractors and employees assigned to the project
  • Supervise construction, purchase, and installation of equipment, and initial start-up
  • Establish supporting infrastructure to ensure continued success of the venture once transitioned to the plant team
  • Provide support for Capital Requests for Funding (CRFs); conduct project cost analysis, prepare cost estimates, provide alternatives, etc.
  • Maintain detailed records for each project, including action plans, timelines, roles, and responsibilities, cost tracking, and status against plan
  • Review project records periodically to assess problems encountered, progress made, solutions identified, and opportunities to share learning and expertise among operations throughout the organization
  • Actively and continuously work with corporate and plant management to identify, evaluate, and assess opportunities for improving production efficiency and quality from an engineering perspective
  • Provide technical engineering and project management support to other divisions of the company as requested

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering required
  • 10 to 15 years of experience with 5+ years of experience leading projects and/or teams within the food and beverage industry, including some corporate exposure or tenure
  • Protein experience preferred
  • Experience working in a plant environment is helpful
  • Working knowledge of, and hands-on experience within various engineering disciplines
  • Accepting of out-of-town, overnight travel (may be sustained depending upon the project and geographic location)
