Position Overview:
The Deputy Project Leader is responsible for supporting the overall strategy, execution of deliverables, and project completion for complex projects.
This role requires a proficient understanding of electrical systems, including Critical Power, Power Distribution, UPS, and Modular Construction Delivery.
- Run day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.
- Identify change orders and ensure effective resolution.
- Price, track, and manage change orders.
- Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses.
- Maintain as-builts as work is completed.
- Document project issues/conditions.
- Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Research and compile submittals; price change orders and prepare estimates for partially designed projects.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters.
- Communicate with people outside the company, representing the company to customers, the public, and general contractor representatives.
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (Preferred EE or Industry-related degree) with 5-7 years of experience.
- Related Construction experience with five years' working for an electrical or construction contractor.
- Experience working on construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M.
- Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals.
- Experience with CPM Scheduling.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
- Must have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver.
- Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others.
- Proficiency with Computers including MS Office, Blue Beam, and PDF.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Poly Security Clearance.
