Resource Accommodations Coordinator

The Bergen Community College seeks a highly skilled Resource Accommodations Specialist to coordinate services for students with disabilities. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective learning and promote student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting spoken language to sign language and vice versa to ensure equal access to education.
- Collaborating with the Office of Specialized Services to provide support for students with disabilities.
- Providing information and resources to faculty, staff, and students regarding communication services.
- Reviewing disability documentation to determine eligibility for services and assisting students with disabilities in understanding their rights and responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in special education, rehabilitation, social work, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience, with one year in a postsecondary educational setting preferred.
- Successful completion of the written portion of the RID certification exam (NIC, CI, or CT) required.
- Fluency in American Sign Language and English.
