Job Overview:

The Senior Systems Architect is responsible for crafting intricate frameworks that fulfill comprehensive technical and business architecture needs across the organization. This role involves defining protocols for technical platforms, system specifications, and ensuring compatibility between technical and business processes. The architect will identify, evaluate, and rectify design vulnerabilities.

Collaborating with management, this position will drive strategic initiatives aimed at designing, planning, developing, and aligning technological directives with implementation strategies.

This senior-level role requires a highly experienced professional with a deep understanding of industry standards and practices.

Expertise Required:
Extensive knowledge of concepts and principles relevant to the functional area is essential. A general understanding of departmental operations, Reserve Banks, and/or System functions, policies, procedures, and technologies is also necessary.

Communication Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and both oral and written communication skills tailored for diverse audiences are critical.

Risk Management:
The individual must grasp and apply risk management principles in decision-making processes and contribute to the risk management of their respective functions.

Decision-Making:
This role operates under guidance to plan procedural details and methods to achieve specific objectives. Decisions are made within established or widely accepted frameworks. The individual will achieve planned outcomes through decisions and actions grounded in professional methodologies, training, business principles, and practical experience. Experience in architecting/building pipelines and images is required, along with proficiency in using Ansible and scanning tools. While the primary focus is on Linux, familiarity with Windows is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Lead significant technology assessments by evaluating their merit and impact; design, develop, and establish architectural standards for the System/FRIT through collaboration with business application developers to ensure adherence to established technical architecture.
2) Facilitate architectural discussions for both technical and managerial audiences.
3) Collaborate with clients and other stakeholders to identify critical architectural and infrastructure gaps in the IT landscape and propose solutions for enhancement.
4) Guide efforts in analyzing e-business drivers to ascertain business IT architecture requirements.
5) Oversee initial project development, system design/testing, requirement direction, and exploration of alternatives for the implementation of viable new technologies.
6) Provide consultative leadership on System projects focused on the planning, development, and execution of strategic technological directives.
7) Offer senior-level technical guidance to other architects involved in technology studies and implementation projects.
8) Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
This role necessitates the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires a degree of sitting (for extended periods), standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing more than 20 lbs.

Work Hours:
Extended work hours may be necessary. Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be required. The individual may be subject to on-call duties as needed and may encounter moderate noise from equipment. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, along with 6 to 9+ years of relevant work experience, is required.
