Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer II to join our team at the Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet. As a key member of our Division of Water/Water Infrastructure Branch/Engineering Section, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of life for all Kentuckians by protecting our land, air, and water resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review plans and specifications for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure construction projects to ensure compliance with environmental engineering standards and regulations.
  • Review permit applications and contract documents for compliance with applicable regulations regarding the State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Program.
  • Provide technical assistance to Department staff and the public with regards to water and wastewater infrastructure and the SRF loan program.
  • Manage reviews of infrastructure construction projects using the Advantage Regulatory Management database.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure as a professional engineer.
  • Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.
Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office setting. Travel throughout the state may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months.
