Job Title: Environmental Scientist Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist Advisor to join our team at the Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet. As an Environmental Scientist Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate implementation of federal and state drinking water regulations, including taking on a leadership role with the branch manager.
  • Provide technical assistance to public water systems, section supervisors, outside organizations, and field operations about regulatory compliance; evaluate if compliance criteria have been met.
  • Develop data management tools for drinking water data electronic submittal, and coordinate with other branches and agencies to develop those tools.
  • Present at conferences and industry meetings; represent Division of Water to outside agencies and public water systems.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a natural, biological or physical science OR Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 20 semester hours in a natural, biological or physical science.
  • Five years of experience in natural resources, environmental control, or a related area.
