Clinical Nurse Supervisor, Ambulatory Clinics, UT Health Austin

Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for supervising and overseeing the daily activities of clinical support staff within assigned ambulatory care units. This includes staffing schedules to effectively meet the needs of providers and patients.
With the support of the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor ensures staff are adequately onboarded, continuous training and competencies are completed, and provides regular coaching and feedback as necessary.
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor delegates effectively to share responsibilities with others, assists with and oversees electronic health record clinical inboxes, ensures the review and completion of ambulatory care unit logs, and oversees unit phone system for inbound/outbound calls and voice messages.
As the first escalation point of contact within assigned ambulatory care units, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor provides patient education as needed, maintains supply inventory within clinical units, managing costs effectively and efficiently, and provides direct nursing care to patient populations as needed based on clinic staffing ratios.
