Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end closing activities to guarantee prompt and precise financial reporting.
  • Prepare standard and recurring journal entries.
  • Conduct daily cash transaction reconciliations and generate cash receipt entries.
  • Compile account reconciliations and address any discrepancies, including but not limited to cash, prepaids, accruals, contract access fees, lease accounting, and payroll accruals.
  • Perform in-depth analyses of general ledger accounts and trends documented in analytical files.
  • Assist in gathering documentation for various audits and requests from regulatory bodies.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and propose enhancements.
  • Understand and uphold accounting policy documentation.
  • Collaborate on special projects, including upgrades to the current accounting system.
  • Execute other accounting-related tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Over 5 years of experience in an accounting role within government contracting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated individual with effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and/or Unanet.
  • Familiarity with the government contract billing process.
