About the Position

The State of Oklahoma is seeking a skilled Health Information Technician to join our team at Griffin Memorial Hospital. As a Health Information Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing, classifying, and abstracting medical reports in the medical records unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, referring incomplete or inaccurate reports to appropriate staff for correction.
  • Prepare statistical, case, and other types of reports, ensuring all data is properly coded.
  • Prepare materials and forms, gathering all pertinent information and data for admissions and discharges.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
  • Two years of experience working with patient records in a medical setting, such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic, or physician's office.
