Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse III

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse III to join our team at the State of Oklahoma. As a Licensed Practical Nurse III, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a variety of settings.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse III will perform technical direct and indirect nursing care, including taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and various other technical nursing tasks. You will also participate in the evaluation of responses to interventions, teach basic nursing skills, and delegate nursing care tasks to other staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing procedures and specialized functions in accordance with knowledge, skills, and licensure.
  • Participate in the evaluation of responses to interventions.
  • Teach basic nursing skills and related principles.
  • Delegate nursing care tasks to other staff members.
  • Assist in assessing, reporting, and recording health status of patients, families, and groups.
  • Participate in developing and implementing appropriate aspects of a plan of care.
  • Administer medications as ordered.
  • Report patient information to supervisor or appropriate health team member.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse, as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, plus two years of practical nursing experience. You will also need to have knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, practices, and theory, as well as medical terminology and infection control measures.
