Position Overview:

The Infrastructure Manager will report directly to the Director of Pathology Clinical Bioinformatics and Operations. This pivotal role is essential for the development and oversight of infrastructure that supports Pathology Systems. The successful candidate will spearhead a team focused on maintaining the reliability, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure, while also nurturing interdepartmental relationships. Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong communication capabilities are vital for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute high-performance computing frameworks for Pathology applications.
  • Oversee data management solutions encompassing storage, security, and access protocols.
  • Implement industry best practices for virtual machines and containerized applications.
  • Manage the transition of computing and storage infrastructure to cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Lead the Infrastructure team and provide guidance and mentorship.
  • Act as Project Manager when necessary.
  • Engage with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Work closely with Pathology faculty and administrative leadership.
  • Develop comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Assess and evaluate new technologies and software solutions.
  • Establish clear objectives and expectations for team members.
  • Manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in high-performance computing and networking.
  • Experience in server management and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network security and firewall configurations.
  • Familiarity with distributed storage systems and container orchestration.
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database management.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
  • Knowledge of GPU computing and cloud platforms.
  • Additional experience in Machine Learning Operations and backend development is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment.
