Our Opportunity:

Chewy is on the lookout for a Senior Operations Leader to join our dynamic fulfillment center. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up atmosphere and is adept at fostering relationships with team members, management, logistics partners, suppliers, and various departments within the organization. The successful candidate will embrace challenges, adapt to changes, and dive deep into operational details to drive daily enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and cultivate high-performing teams while refining processes, metrics, and operational standards.
  • Oversee and guide a team of Operations Managers and Area Managers.
  • Design and implement operational protocols to ensure flawless execution of inbound and outbound logistics, product handling, and maintain exemplary inventory accuracy.
  • Promote and uphold a safe working environment.
  • Accountable for meeting all operational objectives.
  • Lead strategic planning and forecasting initiatives.
  • Empower Operations Managers and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing innovative ideas, translating them into actionable improvement plans.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Operations Managers for career advancement and skill enhancement.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages feedback and drives operational improvements, while remaining focused on customer satisfaction.
  • Champion continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery, while expanding capabilities within the fulfillment center.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to enhance order fulfillment accuracy and provide insights for operational enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in Receiving, Inventory Control, Order Fulfillment, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing or enhancing inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processes.
  • Passion for working in a start-up environment characterized by high levels of ambiguity and change.
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Metrics-driven approach.
  • Customer service-focused mindset, with a commitment to meeting customer needs.
  • Effective communicator and leader for team members, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and achieve results through data-driven decision-making.
  • Highest standards of integrity and ethics.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and/or night shifts as required.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk up to 2 miles during a shift.
  • Occasional lifting of over 70 pounds with team assistance.
  • Capability to stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
  • Ability to navigate stairs as applicable.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for the Senior Operations Leader position is $112,000 to $179,500.00. The specific salary offered will depend on various factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. This position is also eligible for a 401k plan and both new hire and annual equity grants.

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/Rx, vision, dental, life, disability, and additional coverage options. Our offerings also include parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, and various discounts.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO), while salaried-exempt team members enjoy unlimited PTO, subject to managerial approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays annually and may qualify for paid sick and family leave in accordance with applicable regulations.
