JOIN OUR TEAM

The Service Operations Leader is accountable for the effective implementation of the organization's operational activities, guiding supervisors and technicians in executing safety protocols, preventive maintenance, installation/start-up, rework, and troubleshooting tasks related to control panels, ignition systems, AFR, speed governing, end devices, as well as compressor and engine overhauls and other associated tasks. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely execution, quality service, and achieving financial objectives from a cost perspective, aligning with both company and client expectations. Daily engagement with customer field personnel regarding service operations is essential, thus requiring strong customer management and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicates, trains, and promotes adherence to the company’s EHS policies.
  • Oversees recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation, and termination of supervisors and technicians.
  • Proposes solutions or alternative methods to meet operational requirements.
  • Addresses and resolves employee conflicts.
  • Participates in and champions the organization’s continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Educates and enforces the company’s field service policies.
  • Directs the resolution of technical issues related to overhauls reported by clients promptly and accurately.
  • Investigates and documents significant equipment failures, recommending procedures to prevent recurrence.
  • Supervises the activities of mobile supervisors and technicians.
  • Assists service supervisors and coordinators with technician assignments for both planned and unplanned service tasks.
  • Communicates necessary corrective maintenance needs to service supervisors and coordinators regarding scheduling and scope of work.
  • Ensures accountability for maintenance activities as per customer schedules, both planned and unplanned.
  • Maintains oversight of the quality of workmanship provided by technicians for all maintenance tasks.
  • Manages the costs associated with service activities.
  • Supports the development and execution of action plans for service operations.
  • Oversees the costs and repairs of transportation equipment and other overhead expenses.
  • Guides technicians in providing technical assistance to clients.
  • Responsible for the development and training of supervisors and technicians on field service-related process enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with 10 to 15 years of experience in gas compression or related training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals is essential.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively.

Strong verbal communication skills to engage effectively with groups of customers or employees.

Capability to apply common sense in executing instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

Aptitude for addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

Basic computer skills are necessary, with the ability to utilize technology as a diagnostic tool.

A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to maintain an acceptable driving record as per company standards.

Effective listening skills to understand employee concerns and formulate decisions to resolve issues.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

While performing the duties of this role, employees are regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly. Frequent physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, using hands for various tasks, and reaching with arms. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. Employees must be able to lift and/or move heavy objects regularly. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions. Occasional exposure to high places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, and electrical hazards may occur. The noise level in the work environment typically ranges from moderate to quiet.

Travel requirements may reach up to 40%. This position is classified as safety-sensitive.

Distribution of time for this position is expected to be 40% in the field.
