Chewy is actively seeking an Operations Manager for our fulfillment center. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, capable of establishing and nurturing relationships with hourly associates, management teams, carrier partners, vendors, and various departments within the organization. The ideal candidate will embrace ambiguity and change, demonstrating a keen attention to detail to drive daily improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee inbound and outbound operations for the fulfillment center, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping across multiple shifts.

+ Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for associates on the outbound team.

+ Direct warehouse supervisory staff to meet established objectives, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders while maintaining high standards for on-time shipments and minimizing defects.

+ Monitor and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as warehouse misses, on-time shipments, shipment defects, aged tasks, production levels per hour, and cost per order line.

+ Collaborate with a team of Area Managers and Operations Leads.

+ Drive strategic planning and forecasting initiatives.

+ Leverage insights from Area Managers to develop and implement improvement plans for operational areas.

+ Mentor and develop Area Managers to support their career growth and learning.

+ Establish and disseminate standard processes across shifts and the network.

+ Foster a positive team environment that encourages all employees in the fulfillment center to drive and motivate change, adapt to evolving business needs, and maintain a focus on customer experience.

+ Champion continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery while enhancing capabilities within the warehouse.

+ Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize order fulfillment and provide operational insights to enhance WMS effectiveness.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.

+ Minimum of 5 years of management experience in fulfillment center or warehouse operations, preferably in retail or e-commerce.

+ At least 4 years of management experience in Receiving, Inventory Control, and/or Order Fulfillment.

+ Proven experience managing large teams of hourly employees effectively.

+ Experience in developing or enhancing inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processes.

+ Enthusiasm for working in a start-up environment characterized by high levels of ambiguity and change.

+ Strong project management and continuous improvement capabilities.

+ Metrics-driven approach.

+ Commitment to exceptional customer service, with a desire to exceed customer expectations.

+ Effective communication and leadership skills for engaging employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and executive leadership.

+ Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and achieve results using data.

+ High standards of integrity and ethics.

+ Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

+ Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in e-commerce.

+ Certification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt certification.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for the Operations Manager position is $83,000 - $132,500.00. The specific salary offered will depend on various factors, including relevant experience, education, and work location. This position is also eligible for 401k and both new hire and annual equity grants.

We provide a variety of insurance options, including medical/Rx, vision, dental, life, disability, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and accident coverage. Additional benefits include parental leave, family services, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, and numerous discounts.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO), while salaried-exempt team members enjoy unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members receive six paid holidays annually and may qualify for paid sick and family leave in accordance with applicable state and local regulations.
