Position Summary

The role of the Tax & Accounting Manager encompasses a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Analyzing financial transactions and reviewing comprehensive reports
  • Overseeing general ledger reconciliations and managing a diverse client portfolio
  • Engaging in firm management activities and contributing to strategic decisions
  • Regularly updating partners on clients' financial conditions
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes
  • Possessing in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial practices
  • Exhibiting strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Conducting audits, reviews, and compilations while supervising staff
  • Providing proactive advice to clients regarding their tax circumstances
  • Maintaining integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Facilitating training and onboarding for new team members
  • Monitoring daily staff activities and providing guidance

Work Environment and Schedule

  • Standard working hours from Monday to Friday
  • 40-hour work weeks during the off-peak season
  • Increased hours during the peak tax season, including Saturdays
  • On-site work with potential remote options based on performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Active CPA certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CCH Axcess, and QuickBooks
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with GAAP (preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Multilingual abilities are advantageous (preferably Portuguese, Italian, or Spanish)
  • Ability to meet deadlines while being organized and reliable
