Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess energy storage technologies and advise clients on optimal solutions tailored to their specific applications.
  • Conduct battery sizing, incorporating strategies for overbuild and augmentation.
  • Perform electrical system modeling, encompassing grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analyses.
  • Develop protective relay settings, calculations, and coordination studies.
  • Support the electrical design of energy storage initiatives from conceptualization to completion.
  • Contribute to the creation of equipment specifications, procurement processes, and factory acceptance testing for electrical components, inverters, batteries, and related equipment.
  • Assist in drafting construction documents for the installation of new energy storage systems.
  • Utilize foundational knowledge of standard electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering domain.
  • Help update and correct drawings using various CAD software tools.
  • Participate in field inspections, measurements, or calculations as required by clients.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering may substitute for one year of experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a consulting capacity.
  • Experience in lithium-ion battery technology, electrical power systems, medium and low voltage, lighting, grounding, and associated design and construction administration is highly desirable.
  • Experience with facility-type designs for both utility-scale storage and commercial/industrial behind-the-meter storage.
  • Familiarity with system modeling tools such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar software is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, are essential.
  • Prior experience in consulting engineering is preferred.
