Job Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Renewable Energy Engineer to join our Power Delivery and Renewable Energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the power delivery renewable energy team and performing hands-on solar engineering, detail design, and studies for utility and developer clients in North America.
Key Responsibilities:- Support, develop, and deliver grid-scale solar PV projects from feasibility studies to completion of Issue For Construction design packages.
- Identify, evaluate, and analyze solar PV technologies, products, and vendors, and support clients with technology and vendor selection and implementation.
- Develop and review engineering design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents at various design milestones for solar projects.
- Coordinate closely with civil, structural, high-voltage electrical, SCADA/telecommunications, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete Issue For Construction design packages for solar projects.
- Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager, and Technical Lead to support services and plan, develop, and grow power delivery clients' goals and business growth for the region.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with solar PV consultancy businesses and understanding of solar PV technologies, including design and construction of these systems into traditional power generation and/or renewables generation facilities.
- Must have experience with solar PV systems in both utility-scale and/or large industrial facilities, including design types, at least 3 different solar plants with 3 separate major inverter, tracker, and module manufacturers, solar plant load sizing, one-line development, site arrangements, inverter selection, cable ampacity calculations, grounding, protective relaying, and associated systems design and construction administration.
- Must be able to perform engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), cable ampacity study (CYMCAP or equivalent), grounding analysis, AC-DC voltage drop calculations, VOC/ISC calcs, AC/DC cable sizing.
- Must have design experience adhering to National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, IEEE codes and standards, and county, city, and state codes, ordinances, and standards.
- PE license.
- Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
