Job Description

At Arcadis, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewable team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of solar PV projects from feasibility studies to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review engineering design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents for solar projects.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, structural, high-voltage electrical, SCADA/telecommunications, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete design packages for solar projects.
  • Support microgrid and distributed energy resources projects by developing detailed electrical engineering designs.
  • Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager, and Technical Lead to support services and plan, develop, and grow power delivery clients' goals and business growth for the region.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with solar PV consultancy businesses and understanding of solar PV technologies, including design and construction of these systems into traditional power generation and/or renewables generation facilities.
  • Experience with solar PV systems in both utility-scale and/or large industrial facilities, including design types, at least 3 different solar plants with 3 separate major inverter, tracker, and module manufacturers, solar plant load sizing, one-line development, site arrangements, inverter selection, cable ampacity calculations, grounding, protective relaying, and associated systems design and construction administration.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), cable ampacity study (CYMCAP or equivalent), grounding analysis, AC-DC voltage drop calculations, VOC/ISC calcs, AC/DC cable sizing.
  • Design experience adhering to National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, IEEE codes and standards, and county, city, and state codes, ordinances, and standards.
