Job Summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our preschool staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging and educational activities for preschool-age children.
  • Provide support to the lead teacher in maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Supervise children during all activities, both indoors and outdoors, and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Observe and assess children's developmental progress, and communicate with the lead teacher to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to prepare lesson plans, materials, and environments that promote learning and development.
  • Establish positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, and contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Requirements
  • CDA program or a degree program in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and move objects or children up to 50 pounds.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check, including a criminal record check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
