Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for a skilled and proactive Credit Card Fraud Analyst to become a vital member of our Fraud Operations team. The primary responsibility of this role will be to investigate instances of fraud related to SoFi's Credit Card offerings, focusing on application fraud, account activity fraud, and fraud claims. Investigations will encompass a comprehensive review of all SoFi products linked to the case, including Credit Cards, Loans, Investments, and Checking/Savings accounts. The Analyst will assess whether the identified activities necessitate the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports. The ideal candidate will provide insights and support to Management in formulating and executing strategic initiatives while advancing business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth investigations on flagged and suspicious accounts within designated systems, ensuring thorough documentation to substantiate final decisions.
  • Oversee fraud claims to validate their authenticity, which may involve liaising with merchants, financial institutions, and clarifying customer statements as needed. Collect relevant documentation to support final determinations.
  • Identify emerging fraud patterns, propose new strategies to mitigate further losses, and take charge of special projects as assigned by Management.
  • Review alerts and reports to uncover unusual activities, including drafting narratives and gathering supporting documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to departmental standards and processes to enhance productivity and manage work volumes effectively.
  • Assist Management in developing both short-term and long-term strategies, highlighting the benefits of initiatives aimed at reducing fraud exposure.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with partners and vendors, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared success.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, agility, innovation, excellence, and a positive work environment while focusing on continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fraud investigation within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit card operations, along with familiarity with checks, ACH, wire transfers, debit cards, and other payment processing rules. Understanding of electronic crimes related to card fraud and credential theft.
  • In-depth understanding of credit card operations, regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of banking operations and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to build peer relationships and communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including with vendors and external financial institutions.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Proficient in time management, decision-making, judgment, problem-solving, and prioritization.
  • Demonstrates responsibility, ownership, and accountability for work outcomes and actions.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, high-volume, and team-oriented environment.
Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is outlined below. The final salary offer will be determined based on individual factors such as experience, skills, and location.

Pay range: $60,000 - $114,000.00

Payment frequency: Annual
