GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Judicial Case Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the mission of the New Hampshire Judicial Branch to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the rights and freedoms enshrined in the United States and New Hampshire Constitutions. This position is dedicated to ensuring that court users receive the necessary guidance and support throughout their legal processes, particularly in areas such as family law, involuntary commitments, and other designated case types.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee cases within the assigned category from initiation to resolution.
- Assist litigants in understanding and completing necessary legal documents, including urgent filings.
- Evaluate incoming submissions for thoroughness and correctness.
- Advise on the appropriate procedures for various filings.
- Prepare and distribute notifications to relevant parties.
- Facilitate Case Coordinator Meetings as required.
- Organize and schedule upcoming hearings or events as necessary.
- Conclude cases and perform final processing, including annulments when applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of court activities.
- Provide educational resources and information to parties, legal representatives, and the public regarding specific case types.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including mediators, attorneys, and healthcare professionals.
- Oversee scheduling and program management within the case type, including initial appearances and hearings.
- Assist judges and judicial officers in preparation for hearings.
- Coordinate mediation efforts and monitor case progress in mediation.
- Offer courtroom support and collaborate with court personnel.
- Connect individuals with community resources as needed.
- Support office operations through record keeping and data management.
- Perform additional duties as required to enhance office efficiency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Completion of at least two years of relevant college coursework or an Associate's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in case management or within the court system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
Knowledge:
- Understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and case management.
- Familiarity with New Hampshire statutes, rules, and judicial policies.
- Awareness of financial operations within the Judicial Branch.
- Proficiency in judicial computer systems and electronic filing.
Skills:
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with diverse populations while maintaining neutrality.
