Human Resources Coordinator II

The Human Resources Coordinator II position is a key role in the City of Chesapeake's HR department, responsible for ensuring the smooth processing of personnel actions across all departments. This includes reviewing and approving personnel actions, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing support to departmental payroll/HR staff.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze information to review and approve personnel actions for all departments.
- Update and maintain documentation related to personnel actions.
- Provide support to departmental payroll/HR staff with related personnel activities.
- Facilitate training on the City's HR policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain various reports, records, and other documentation.
This role requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in human resources management or a closely related field. In addition, a minimum of one year of related experience is required. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Employees in this role may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
