Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Irvine Ranch Water District. As a key member of our Mechanical Services Department, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various equipment and systems related to our water distribution and treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, dismantle, overhaul, and repair waterworks machinery and equipment, including pumps, motors, engines, compressors, gear drive units, piping, valves, and related equipment.
  • Perform repairs and modifications while providing training to apprentice-level personnel.
  • Prepare reports summarizing the District's mechanical maintenance and electrical functions, including labor, work performed, and materials used.
  • Participate in the department's after-hours standby program at the sole discretion of the District.
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program and/or collections system maintenance and water distribution certifications highly desirable.
  • Minimum of two years of apprentice-level experience in a job requiring the application of mechanical and electrical skills in a water/wastewater treatment plant, water distribution system, or similar environment preferred.
