POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Specialist will operate within a team of maintenance professionals, executing various maintenance tasks across the organization’s facilities. This role involves independent and collaborative work to ensure that all maintenance activities are performed efficiently and in accordance with established policies and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute tasks independently while collaborating with the Lead Maintenance Technician and Facilities Manager.
  • Manage daily assignments and monitor the progress of tasks using the Facilities Work Order System.
  • Conduct building and grounds maintenance as required.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support.
  • Collaborate with team members on larger projects and complex tasks.
  • Identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Adapt to emergent needs and share on-call duties as required.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while performing all duties.
  • Promptly report any concerns or issues to supervisory staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing lawn care and snow removal as assigned.
  • Conducting carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Maintaining HVAC systems.
  • Executing general maintenance tasks as they arise.
  • Assisting with furniture delivery, assembly, and relocation.
  • Managing waste removal and disposal.
  • Supporting pest control efforts.
  • Documenting billable hours and maintenance costs for supervisor review.
  • Monitoring facility conditions and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Ensuring timely submission of necessary paperwork.
  • Purchasing supplies as authorized by supervisor.
  • Completing other related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in various maintenance skills relevant to facility upkeep.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Able to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong record-keeping and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate well with others and represent the organization positively.
  • Flexible with work hours to meet program needs, including after-hours response.
  • Capable of responding to emergencies outside of regular hours.
  • Physically fit to perform demanding tasks and lift heavy objects.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel.
  • Possession of basic tools necessary for maintenance work.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED with additional training in a relevant trade.
  • Five years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Full-Time Position: 40 hours per week
