Job Summary:

As a key member of the Kaiser Permanente team, the Pulmonary Services Director will oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused pulmonary care services in a diverse culture. This role is accountable for service area and continuum of care, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality standards across the continuum of care, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic plans.
  • Coordinate treatment plans, customer-focused delivery of services, and cost-effective utilization of services, ensuring compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with healthcare providers to develop, implement, and provide efficient pulmonary care services and outcomes.
  • Review best practice models, including systems development and cost-effective care delivery models, to improve quality and service to members.
  • Meet short- and long-term financial goals by planning, developing, monitoring, adjusting, and evaluating annual budgets, identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality of services.
  • Manage staff, ensuring they are fully competent in providing high-quality care to members, determining appropriate staffing to maintain service levels, and developing and presenting in-service programs to medical center staff.
  • Manage and resolve human resource, employee, and department safety, and risk management issues.

Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis and reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions or change positions from salaried to hourly pay status.

Qualifications:
  • Four years of management experience in respiratory care, a multi-faceted health care system, multi-service provider setting, or academic setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in respiratory care, healthcare administration, nursing, business administration, or completion within two years or four years of equivalent experience in a related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) and Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate.
