As a Patient Care Technician in the Medical Surgical department at Boston Medical Center, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Under the direction of the registered nurse, you will provide direct clinical and support services to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of delegated patient care interventions, including vital sign collection, bathing, feeding, and wound dressing.
- Assist with environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the Medical Surgical department, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
- A high school diploma or equivalent certification
- Certification in basic life support, including CPR
- Ability to pass clinical competency testing
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic math and computer proficiency
- One of the following: previous experience as a Patient Care Technician, enrollment in a nursing program, completion of a Patient Care Technician training program, or completion of a certified medical assistant training program
