About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our Critical Care team at Boston Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct clinical and support services to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a variety of delegated patient care interventions, including vital signs, bathing, feeding, dressing wounds, and emotional support.
  • Perform environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the Critical Care department, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification.
  • Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic math and computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of previous experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute hospital setting.
  • Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation.
  • Completed an approved Patient Care Technician training.
  • Completed an approved certified medical assistant training.
  • One year of previous experience as an EMT or field medic (considered for adult ED positions only).
