Patient Care Technician

Job Summary:
Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines
- Conduct machine safety checks and report any unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor
- Obtain vital signs and weight prior to treatment and document accurately
- Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders and evaluate intradialytic problems
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and report any significant information to the registered nurse or supervisor
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and support the organization commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP)
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification as defined by Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)
- At least two years previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred
