Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of children aged 0-5.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to early childhood education.
- Provide individualized attention and support to children, promoting social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor children's progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to share progress, address concerns, and foster a sense of community.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- 24 units in Child Development or a related field.
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a Head Start or Early Head Start setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher.
- 1 year of teaching experience in an early childhood setting.
- Bilingual English and Spanish (written and verbal).
