Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Mercy Housing & Shelter Corp., which is dedicated to combating homelessness and empowering individuals and families in the community to achieve self-sufficiency and stability through comprehensive housing and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general clerical and administrative tasks, including drafting communications, managing schedules, and maintaining both physical and digital filing systems.
  • Handle mail preparation and filing duties.
  • Welcome visitors and manage incoming calls.
  • Organize and maintain records, correspondence, and databases efficiently.
  • Prepare materials required for meetings, presentations, and reports.
  • Oversee various databases to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead special projects as assigned, establishing timelines for completion.
  • Enhance departmental practices and procedures for ongoing improvement.
  • Compile and produce information that supports program initiatives and assist clients as necessary.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, contributing to discussions on recovery and trauma-informed care.
  • Provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong documentation skills, including effective oral and written communication, computer proficiency, and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and develop logical solutions for treatment planning.
  • Proficient in managing, organizing, and prioritizing tasks while motivating clients.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, preferably with individuals experiencing homelessness or mental health challenges.
  • Bilingual candidates, particularly in Spanish and English, are preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage ranges from $19 to $21, commensurate with experience.
