Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Mercy Housing & Shelter Corp., which is dedicated to combating homelessness and empowering individuals and families in the community to achieve self-sufficiency and stability through comprehensive housing and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general clerical and administrative tasks, including drafting communications, managing schedules, and maintaining both physical and digital filing systems.
- Handle mail preparation and filing duties.
- Welcome visitors and manage incoming calls.
- Organize and maintain records, correspondence, and databases efficiently.
- Prepare materials required for meetings, presentations, and reports.
- Oversee various databases to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Lead special projects as assigned, establishing timelines for completion.
- Enhance departmental practices and procedures for ongoing improvement.
- Compile and produce information that supports program initiatives and assist clients as necessary.
- Participate in weekly team meetings, contributing to discussions on recovery and trauma-informed care.
- Provide support to colleagues as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong documentation skills, including effective oral and written communication, computer proficiency, and meticulous record-keeping.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and develop logical solutions for treatment planning.
- Proficient in managing, organizing, and prioritizing tasks while motivating clients.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, preferably with individuals experiencing homelessness or mental health challenges.
- Bilingual candidates, particularly in Spanish and English, are preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wage ranges from $19 to $21, commensurate with experience.
