The Science Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the natural science laboratories at InsideHigherEd. This position requires a strong background in science and laboratory management, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Lab Operations: Direct and manage the natural science laboratory activities, ensuring that all prescribed lab activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory and quality assurance of natural science lab items, including equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and supervise lab assistants and student assistants, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the full budget for science labs, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and allocated effectively.
- Safety Protocols: Monitor and enforce laboratory safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and students.
- Evaluation and Improvement: Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of natural science labs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related science field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience, with a strong background in science and laboratory management.
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid Certification.
InsideHigherEd offers a competitive salary range of $54,528 - $62,707, as well as a supportive and collegial work environment with excellent work/life balance.
