Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technical Coordinator to oversee laboratory personnel and operations in one or more laboratory sections. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance and quality in accordance with laboratory work processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach laboratory personnel to train for adherence to relevant policies and ethics.
  • Oversee most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercise authority over operational decisions.
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes.
  • Administer laboratory inventories, including supplies, equipment, and consumables.
  • Assist with the selection of test methodology and verify test procedures performed.
  • Establish and maintain a quality control program to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance.
  • Train staff in and assist with the resolution of technical problems.
  • Ensure patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken.
  • Identify training needs and assure that each individual performing tests receives regular in-service training and education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or biological science.
  • 2 years of clinical lab experience in the designed lab area/specialty.
  • Required licensure and certifications vary by state.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical Laboratory departments: MT or CLS or MLS certification, ASCP or equivalent.
  • Pathology Laboratory department: CT or HTL certification required, ASCP or equivalent.
