The University of Michigan is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to join our Pediatric Inpatient Pulmonary Ventilator Unit team.

Job Summary:

  • Provide high-quality patient care to pediatric patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform history and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies, document in electronic medical records, and respond to calls from patients/families and care teams.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, educate patients and families on disease management and treatment options.
  • Clinical experience in inpatient pediatrics with high acuity and complex medical needs.

Requirements:

  • NPs: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan, current specialty certification, and two years of APP experience managing pediatric patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
  • PAs: Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, satisfactory completion of a physician assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or one of its predecessor agencies, and AHA approved BLS/PALS certification.
