**About the Job**

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Pulmonary Advanced Practice Clinician to join our team at the University of Michigan. As an integral part of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care to pediatric and young adult patients on the Pediatric Pulmonary service and Pediatric Ventilator Unit.

The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. A salary of $124,380 - $184,770 per year reflects the importance of this role in delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient care to pediatric and young adult patients admitted on the Pediatric Pulmonary service and Pediatric Ventilator Unit.
  • Direct patient care and management would include performing histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, attending team-based rounds, processing discharges, and developing a plan of care both independently and in coordination with other Pediatric Pulmonary department team members.
  • Patient and family counseling, education, and support as necessary.
  • Collaboration with and place referrals to consulting services in multidisciplinary care.
  • Respond to calls from patients/families and care teams.
  • Contribute to the development and modification of department-specific quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in professional development; attend continuing education/staff development programs to maintain knowledge of current literature.

Requirements:

  • NP: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan. Current specialty certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care. Also will consider Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care (with 2 years of Pediatric Pulmonary RN/NP experience) or Family Nurse Practitioner (with 2 years of Pediatric Pulmonary RN/NP experience).
  • PA: Current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan. Satisfactory completion of physician assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or one of its predecessors agencies. Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA). DEA license. State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required. AHA Approved BLS and PALS. Two years of clinical experience in pediatrics.
